John A. Fatherley, formerly and currently of Bradford, Vermont, will present his new book Almas Atormentadas. The public is cordially invited. This book is in Spanish and the title is translated “Tormented Souls”. There is a summary in English included.

“Almas Atormentadas” pertains to conflicts between the U.S. State Department and the South Atlantic naval squadron during the Paraguayan War /1865-70. The conflict – also known as the Triple Alliance War (or “Gran Guerra” in Spanish), decimated the nation of Paraquay and its territory – much of which was gained back in the historic arbitration by the U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878.

Fatherly has invited an associate, Vidal Mario, of Resistancia in Argentine Chaco, to present his new publication on the history of colonial America. Both Fatherly and Mario are members of the Writers and Artists Union of Tarija in Bolivia where they meet annually to share research.
